Add Art logo
Add Art, a family-owned custom frame shop, has been in the same location on Main Street in Jackson, CA for over 30 years, and their original logo was hand-painted when the shop first opened. Since then, the logo has been digitized time and time again, resulting in the characters becoming muddy and warped.
While refreshing the logo, I wanted to maintain the charm of the original design while making my own modern edits.
new Signage
Add Art’s original sign was hand-painted by the owner’s father over 30 years ago. When I was asked to design a new sign, I wanted to ensure it measured up to their family legacy, and represented exactly what they wanted.
In line with Add Art’s sixties branding, I developed a sign inspired by the atomic art style of vintage motels.
Postcard
For this project, my client asked for a unique postcard to advertise his local custom framing business, located in Jackson, CA. He wanted the card to reflect a vintage sixties vibe, along with the local, hometown feel of his family-owned shop.
Inspired by vintage board game designs and old storefront windows, I started with a sixties color scheme and intricate frame designs. As I worked, I wanted to reflect Add Art’s eclectic brand. I added additional frames, a spiral of layered colors, and I filled the stamp slot with a framed image of a zebra — a fun touch that my client really enjoyed!
