Labyrinth Escape Games
In 2021, Labyrinth Escape Games approached me about doing a logo redesign and brand refresh. As an avid lover of puzzles, mystery and escape rooms, I was immediately on board.
Labyrinth prides itself on its holistic approach to escape games. When you enter Labyrinth, you’re not just a patron entering an escape room — you’re a time traveler heading into a swashbuckling adventure, a zombie apocalypse, or an ancient Egyptian cave to find lost treasure and escape the clutches of your enemy.
With this idea in mind, I began conceptualizing Labyrinth’s new logo and brand guide. Between the company’s mission and its name, I concluded there was no better icon for Labyrinth’s logo than a maze. I used this idea to create a crisp, modern and mysterious call to action.
Additionally, I freshened up the brand to accompany the new logo and reflect Labyrinth’s modern, unique take on escape games.
Boise Signage
As Labyrinth expanded into its second location, the team wanted to use the tall windows in their Boise building to depict the brand in a unique way. Rather than just slapping the logo on all the windows, we wanted to create something that would spark the interest of people walking by.
For this project, I designed in the style of an old pirate’s map or adventurer’s journal — weathered paper texture with messy ink and detailed artistic elements — and developed multiple window designs. Standing nearly eight feet tall, each window includes a story that connects to an escape room, as well as a real puzzle that can be solved by passersby. Adding mysterious narrative in each window was not only a fun challenge, but it built on Labyrinth’s immersive approach to escape games.
Additionally, for this project, I altered Labyrinth’s logo to fit into the weathered style of the windows. This technique can be seen throughout all the rooms at Labyrinth’s Boise location, where I stylized the logo to fit each story.

Versatility
Labyrinth’s red maze logo is extremely versatile, and lends itself to the company’s different adventures. For the window project, I altered Labyrinth’s logo to fit the weathered style of the window designs, a technique I applied to multiple room at Labyrinth’s Boise location.
Additionally, I used this technique to create merch for the company, like these stickers. For their zombie thriller game, Night Walker, I paired my hand-drawn typeface "Gryme" with a more 'haunted' version of the logo. I altered the logo design yet again for Excalibur, a medieval-themed game.
